Why spay/neuter your pet?

  1. To prevent unwanted pregnancies.
  2. To prevent the nuisance of your pet's heat cycle or its reaction to the heat cycle of another animal.
  3. Neutered dogs have fewer behavioral problems.
  4. Spaying a cat at about 6 months, before the first heat cycle, markedly decreases the chance of any mammary cancer. Mammary cancer is the number one malignancy of the older female cat.
  5. Spayed/Neutered animals stay home more and decrease the likelihood of fighting, roaming or getting hit by a car. Because they stay home more, many infectious diseases are not encountered.
  6. To decrease the incidence of urine marking for territorial reasons.
  7. Spayed/Neutered dogs and cats make better pets.
Males recover from a neuter with minimal discomfort, and using the newest techniques in gas anesthesia, as we do, the risks are greatly diminished. Please consider the these benefits carefully.

Drop off in the morning
Pre-surgical exam
Sterile pack for each surgery
Human grade suture materials which do not leave lumps that can be felt under the skin as do wire or stiff spool suture materials.
Sedation with gentle, quickly metabolized agents. The general anesthetic uses only Isoflourane (the same that is used for humans) which allows for a quick recovery.
An overnight stay to fully recover (your pet will go home the day after it checks in)

When shopping costs for spaying/ neutering, remember, surgical procedures are not necessarily equal. Our costs may be higher because we "do a better job."

All surgeries are performed in a dedicated surgical suite
